After a very long time in the works, Dog Tired Coffee is officially open for business! For those interested, this section is to give you an idea of where we're at currently, and where we're planning to go in the future.
About us
We're a two-man operation consisting of Jacob Burdine and Jack Jaquish. Both Kentucky natives, Lexington locals, cousins, and best friends. We're both certified sensory professionals and we intend to put exhaustive care into every step of the process to bring you beans that are sourced well, profiled well, and roasted well.
For our coffee philosophy, we don't believe in any roast-level or origin elitism. We put the same amount of care into our dark roasts as our light roasts, and our staple beans to our limited runs. We won't ever offer anything we don't love ourselves.
Where we're at
We're starting with a strong lineup of six coffees, all with strong carefully refined roast profiles. You can find all of these coffees as retail bag offerings on our online shop, as well as reach out to inquire about wholesale pricing if you'd like to use our coffee in your cafe or carry our retail bags.
For all online sales, we're using Shopify to make sure that your sensitive data and credit card information is in well-trusted hands.
For wholesale partnerships we're currently working out the details with a few local shops that will debut our coffee. We plan to announce this on our partners page and in a post like this one as soon as we're able.
We're very excited to get started, and hope that you'll love our coffee as much as we do.
Where we're going
Full disclosure: We're new to this, but we put extensive research into every decision we make so that we can earn your trust. This is done by carefully sourcing all of our beans, exhaustively profiling them to ensure you're getting them at their best, and optimizing the packaging and shipping to minimize costs to the end consumer.
Partnerships
We're eagerly seeking out partnership opportunities in the area, and hope that you'll be able to find Dog Tired Coffee at your local cafe soon. Every new partnership will be announced on this website as soon as it is confirmed, so keep an eye out.
Shipping
We've been working ahead of our opening to explore shipping options that will be as cheap and reliable as possible to those that choose to order online. As new options or methods become available to us we'll optimize the shipping experience further. Expect a tier of free shipping to appear soon when ordering above a certain amount of coffee at a time. Beyond that, we're also actively exploring shipping options abroad.
Subscriptions
We plan to offer a subscription-based model as an option for those that want to set regularly scheduled coffee shipments and forget about it. Along with this we intend to reward the customers that choose that consistency with a subscription-based discount.
Offerings
While our initial offerings are strong, we never want to stagnate. While we establish trusted staple coffees for those that want that stability, we'll also actively be seeking out special limited time offerings that will rotate frequently to ensure our offerings remain interesting and varied.
Closing thoughts
We're very excited to be in the position we are to share our love of good coffee with you. This roadmap is by no means exhaustive, but just a glimpse into what we'll be focusing on at the beginning. We plan to be iterating towards improvements in our processes and offerings constantly and hope you'll stick with us as we grow.
